Adrian Maddox fled his royal life--and tragic past--in Sector One, choosing instead to join up with the O'Kanes. For years, he's lived by one rule: love fast, love hard, and always be willing to walk away. He's managed to guard his heart, keep it whole and untouched--until now.
They couldn't be more different--Dylan, the brilliant, burned-out doctor from Eden who drowns his pain with drugs and self-destruction. Scarlet, the sensuous, sexy rocker from Three, a woman unafraid to embrace the world. And Jade, the whore turned spy from Sector Two, who battled addiction and came out stronger than anyone he's ever met.
Separately, they make Mad long to open his heart, to tumble head-first into a sea of possibilities and wild love. Together, they make him burn, inside and out, with lust and unbearable, unimaginable pleasure.
Then one fateful moment shakes their world to its foundations--and leaves the sectors on the verge of all-out war with Eden. It's the biggest fight the O'Kanes have ever faced, and Mad and his lovers are at the dead center of it. They could end up with everything they never knew they wanted--or lose it all. Including their lives
So, before I started this book, I was a little behind on my Beyond Series and I read the book prior to it yesterday and then I finished this book today. This book was about self exploration. It was about understanding who you are and why you make the decisions you make.
The sectors are about to go to war and everyone is being tested in every way. Do you chose your family or do you chose what you believe in? Do you open yourself up to someone know that going to war means that you may not see them again?
This book challenged everyone. It made you think. It made you pick a side.
I must say that I loved and hated this book at the same time. I've always been a HUGE fan of Kit Rocha. In fact, someone asked the other day what authors would be on your bucket list and these two amazing authors would be on it. However, this book and the last book were too similar. They didn't stand out on their own like the first 4 books. I was actually just discussing with my sister how much we loved the first 4 books. They are on my all time favorite lists. They were unique and stood out. this book had way too many different points of view for my liking. I get that we are getting more of the "war" which I absolutely loved. I'm ready for Dallas to take some names and kick some ass in Eden. But the double edge sword was that because you got more war, more perspectives, I felt lost when it came to the main love story in this book. It didn't allow the relationship to reach the depth that I normally love. I didn't feel the love between the characters. It was too instant for me. The lust was absolutely there and the sex scenes were off the charts, but it was just that for me, LUST. It didn't feel like true love.
